In this session, you’ll learn how to produce video from your mobile phone and use paid social media and search to distribute it and create demand for your audience. Produce and distribute a podcast and promote it using apps like Clammr and livestream video to Streamup, Spreecast, Periscope and Facebook so that the content looks better than anything produced in Hollywood using iOS or Android apps to create weekly live broadcasts.

The Dark Side of Artificial Intelligence

By Jefferson Graham USA TODAY

This week we dived into everything from the potential dark side of artificial intelligence, to making sense of Twitter’s soon-to-change 140 character limits on the #TalkingTech podcast. I ranted about Uber’s ever-increasing surge pricing, and offered recommendations on how to deal with them, and talked to folks from Dell Computer about how Sony used 40 of their super-PCs to animate scenes in the new Angry Birds movie. These powerful machines could render a 30 second scene in an hour that would take 18 years on a standard computer, Dell insisted.

Journalism.co.uk: App for journalists: Clammr, for sharing your podcast highlights on social media

Caroline Scott Journalism.co.uk — How is it of use to journalists? Clammr gives users the ability to select up to 24 seconds of audio from a podcast and post it directly to social media, allowing journalists to give their audience a taste of their latest work, along with a link to the original audio file.

New Republic: The End of the Dark Ages of Podcasting

Stephen Lacey New Republic — Clammr is designed to solve that problem. The app allows users—mostly content creators looking for a new way to get their podcasts heard—to select short audio clips from their phones or the web and share the bite-sized pieces on other social media networks. The sound bite acts as doorway into longer content; Clammr is working on stronger recommendation capabilities to open the door further.

Financial Times: Dynamic ads become new normal in podcasts

Financial Times — “Every media format has a short-form social flavour or tool,” says Parviz Parvizi, co-founder of Clammr, which makes a tool to create, share and discover 24-second audio clips. “Text has Twitter, pictures have Instagram and Pinterest, video has Vine. It’s clunky and hard to find great audio.”

Los Angeles Times: Data startups, Riot Games data and more among week’s L.A. tech highlights

Paresh Dave @ Los Angeles Times — Podcasts and other forms of audio-only media would be a bigger business if the best moments from those soundtracks could be easily clipped and shared on social media — so says Clammr, a startup with offices in Boston and Los Angeles that launched last week. Shorter audio gets listened to 10 times as much on social media, it claims.

RAIN News: Clammr launches with Twitter-like clipping and sharing of audio

Brad Hill @ RAIN News — Why isn’t audio as social and viral as video and web pages? If lack of an easy platform is the problem, Clammr seeks to solve it with today’s launch of its new service on web and mobile. “We wanted to make it incredibly, brainlessly easy,” Clammr co-founder Parviz Parvizi told RAIN News.

BostInno: Clammr Is a Pinterest for Podcast Audio Clips

Galen Moore @ BostInno — It wasn’t quite as simple as that, but Clammr, which launches today with offices in Boston and L.A., has roots in the two co-founders’ practice of sharing audio clips from books-on-tape versions of case law made to serve students who were completely unable to read. With funding from Jeff Karish (an investor in Vice, Re/code and Square), Clammr is a tool for sharing short audio clips.

MediaPost: Clammr Lets Fans, Hosts Share Podcast Snippets On Social Media

P.J. Bednarski @ MediaPost — With Clammr, a Twitter or Facebook user, for example,  will be confronted with a graphical display, say of Marc Maron, and a sliding audio sound bar.  For up to 24 seconds, they hear a choice clip from Maron’s podcast that has been “clammred” by a listener who’s used the Clammr widget on the podcast site to create it, or by the podcast producers themselves. (It’s pretty simple.)

Xconomy: Clammr Aims to Be an Instagram for Audio, Draw Listeners to Podcasts

Jeff Engel Xconomy — The origins of Clammr go back 12 years, when co-founders Parviz Parvizi and David Silverman were classmates at Yale Law School. “We pretty quickly discovered that we were incredibly slow readers, probably the slowest readers in the history of Yale Law School,” Parvizi says with a laugh, as we chat at a coffee shop in Cambridge, MA.

Gigaom: Clammr could breathe new life into podcasts, make audio easier to share

Tom Cheredar @ Gigaom — While the medium of podcasting is currently experiencing renewed interests — both business and from listeners, there are still some key issues that prevent a podcast from achieving the same level of mass distribution as written or video media.
In other words, sharing the best parts of a podcast isn’t as easy as it probably should be. A 40-minute-long podcast episode might have plenty of quotable, sharable moments, but doing so is kind of a pain. You can transcribe the entire quote and then share to Facebook/Twitter. Or, you could make a general comment and link to where that particular episode is hosted online, and allow those interested to figure out what you were talking about (even though they probably won’t). New startup Clammr has a solution that might be a game changer for podcasts, and interesting audio of all sorts.
