The company, founded in 2017, has deals with all major labels, touting that it offers its partners “a unique full-catalog music video service – all the original music videos plus over 100 million Roxi virtual music videos.” It said that in the U.S. it would soon become available “on Samsung, LG, Vizio, Sony Bravia, Roku, Comcast, Fire TV, Google TV, Android TV, NVIDIA Shield TVs and set-top boxes.”

Crunchyroll is launching a 24/7 linear channel, featuring a range of programming from its anime library. The channel will launch on a number of free, ad supported streaming platforms (FAST platforms), including Roku Channel, Amazon Freevee, LG Channels, and Vizio WatchFree+.

Among the business highlights, the company signed FAST deals with AMC Networks, Fremantle, Revry, and Love Stories TV to bring channels such as The Walking Dead, Portlandia, Supermarket Sweep and The Jamie Oliver Channel to its FAST content on Redbox Free Live TV.

By now every major media company has struck deals with other measurement firms (like VideoAmp, EDO, Comscore, and iSpot) to supplement Nielsen’s data, and that is unlikely to change even with Nielsen’s new suite of products, as companies grapple with a rapidly-changing ad and consumer environment.

Specific deal options didn’t come up on the call. Earlier this week, a news report suggested that Comcast has talked to TV set makers, including Vizio, about a potential acquisition. Comcast has been pushing into the smart TV set space under the brand XClass as it looks for new ways to reach consumers in their living rooms.

If trends continue, Wells Fargo analysts see pressure on the advertising revenue of connected television providers such as Roku and Vizio Holding Corp., as well as advertising-based streaming services such as Paramount’s Pluto and Fox’s Tubi.
