There’s a new type of TV coming for Samsung, LG, and Vizio, and it’s completely free if you don’t count the price of your attention — or data. Telly, a company created by Pluto TV co-founder Ilya Pozin, offers up a TV that makes up for its nonexistent price tag by showing constant advertisements in a second, smaller display.

Vizio’s new TVs and soundbars focus on what the company does best: value

What’s not being refreshed are Vizio’s highest-end sets. The 65- and 75-inch P-Series Quantum, 85-inch P-Series Quantum X, and OLED TVs will all continue to be sold for the remainder of 2022, but the company isn’t announcing hardware updates to those products today. (Vizio says they’ll continue to receive software improvements, like support for Bluetooth headphones.)

Just as it always has, Vizio is clearly remaining aggressive on price with its 2023 model year TVs and soundbars. But the question is whether the company’s lush quantum dot colors and picture quality can keep up with (or surpass) others in a mid-range TV market that’s grown fiercely competitive.

Vizio’s Elevate soundbar with rotating speakers is $300 off

Vizio’s high-end, 48-inch Elevate 5.1.4 sound system is selling for the lowest price that we’ve seen yet. Originally $1,099 (though currently selling for $999 through Vizio), you can supercharge your entertainment center for $698 at Amazon. While less costly soundbars like Sonos’ second-gen Beam claim to have Dolby Atmos support, it’s a virtualized effect compared to delivering the real thing, which the Elevate offers.
