VIZIO (NYSE: VZIO) today unveiled the exclusive world premiere of the all new lifestyle series, @Home with Tori, sponsored by a collection of household name brands. Starring iconic actress, producer and creator, Tori Spelling, each new episode of the 10-part TV series will be available weekly on VIZIO’s WatchFree+ streaming service.

It’s also seeing momentum in markets like India, where Hotstar has had success and launched with the rebranded Disney+ Hotstar offering in 2020. As TVREV’s Alan Wolk pointed out in a recent column for Fierce – 50.1 million of Disney’s 137.7 million streaming subs are Hotstar subscribers – with the service adding over 4 million customers in the first quarter to make up more than half of Disney’s 7.8 million subscriber gains in the period. (Wolk attributed some of the success to Hotstar being the historical home of the popular Indian Premier League cricket matches, which Disney recently lost out on rights to – read more on why it matters for Disney and competitors here).

TikTok is also now available on some smart TVs, including Vizio devices (although it’s not selling ads there just yet) and Amazon Fire TV, as of last November.

Vizio has shot up the ranks to claim a spot in Digital Trends’ best TV brands, and that’s because of products like the Vizio V-Series 4K TV. The 50-inch display offers 4K Ultra HD resolution and support for Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10, with a full array backlight that provides light uniformity to what you’re watching. The 4K TV is powered by Vizio’s IQ Active Processor, which can upscale HD content into 4K quality so that you can maximize its display, and its Active Pixel Tuning feature is capable of pixel-level brightness adjustments for an even better look at whatever’s on the screen.

Vizio, which has claimed a spot among the heavyweights in Digital Trends’ best TV brands, offers more affordable TVs compared with the products of Samsung, Sony, and LG. That's not the only venture Brooke is focused on. She has also joined the board of CBD company Prospect Farms as a Chief Brand Officer and is working with Project Paw, a rescue initiative for animals.

3. Vizio M7 Series Quantum 2021 4K TVThe Vizio M7 Series does several things exceptionally well, and chief among them is gaming. The display’s ProGaming Engine processor offers features like AMD FreeSync and Auto Game Mode, which allow for smoother graphics and lower input lag. Vizio measures the M7’s input lag at less than 10ms while offering a variable refresh rate of 60fps at 4K. Those are solid, gaming-focused specs for any display, much less a 4K TV that typically runs a hair over $500.

With the app now available on Vizio smart TVs, TikTok’s dominance of the world continues.

A new app that appears directly on the Home Page is part of the upgrade that is now rolling out. As TikTok’s main competitors Samsung and LG already had the app when it initially debuted in North America back in November 2021, Vizio is a little delayed to offer it. On a larger screen and without the ability to record videos, TikTok TV is virtually the same as the smartphone app.

Vizio has been pushing hard into the ad business as its main TV sales business slows. OTT veteran Bergman helped create Vizio's Platform Plus division, which sells advertising and viewer data and which reported 116% growth in the first quarter to $76 million, helped by advertisers like Disney, GM, and Geico.

The Elvis Presley Channel has launched on platforms including LG Channels, Amazon’s Freevee, Vizio, Sling, Xumo, Plex and Local Now.


The channel, created in partnership by Elvis Presley Enterprises and ABG Entertainment, with Cinedigm, features the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in films and specials, as well as series and lifestyle programming.

For some of the most affordable TVs on the market, you can look to a budget brand like Vizio. Vizio TVs might be lower on the price scale, but they have many of the same features as more expensive brands, like easy streaming and smart features.
