The Vizio V-Series 4K TV supports Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 in addition to 4K Ultra HD resolution for crystal clear picture quality, and Vizio’s IQ Active processor comes with an intelligent 4K upscaling engine to enhance HD content to 4K quality. The 4K TV also features Active Pixel Tuning, which makes pixel-level brightness adjustments for superior visual contrast, and the V-Gaming engine that improves console gaming by reducing input lag and enabling 4K 60fps variable refresh rate. You can also access your favorite streaming services on the Vizio V-Series 4K TV through the SmartCast platform, but the brand also offers the WatchFree+ service that offers hundreds of free streaming channels so that you’ll never run out of things to watch.

Both Fever and the joint venture of Lighthouse Immersive and Impact Museums have hosted immersive live events in numerous U.S. and Canadian cities the past couple of years, featuring deep dives on artists such as Van Gogh and Monet, backed with custom music and other audio.

The combination can be massively popular; Lighthouse’s Immersive Van Gogh was one of last year’s most popular live events of any kind, selling more than 5 million tickets. Coming to numerous cities this summer are dueling King Tut immersive experiences.

Today, VIZIO Holding Corp VZIO dominates CTV currency, which sells its glass-level data to everyone, and LG, which sells its CTV data to iSpot.tv (a private pure-play measurement company).

Following up on our reports on the Vizio TVs, M-Series, and V-Series soundbars announced for 2023, Vizio introduced yet another M-Series soundbar with little fanfare, the M215aw-K6. This middle-of-the-range soundbar provides affordable access to Dolby Atmos via virtual surround sound in an easy-to-set-up 2.1 channel system for under $300.

And while Vizio may not be known as the best-performing TVs in the world, you can still get a great 4K TV for less without scrimping on picture quality or performance (see: the Vizio OLED and P-Series Quantum models).The tradeoff here is that Vizio TVs use a streamlined smart TV experience and leave out complex features like smart home control or advanced tuner technology (you'll want to check out our best TVs with ATSC 3.0 feature for that).

What’s not being refreshed are Vizio’s highest-end sets. The 65- and 75-inch P-Series Quantum, 85-inch P-Series Quantum X, and OLED TVs will all continue to be sold for the remainder of 2022, but the company isn’t announcing hardware updates to those products today. (Vizio says they’ll continue to receive software improvements, like support for Bluetooth headphones.)

Vizio, the consumer electronics brand that was once considered a start-up, can now safely be said to be an “upstart,” constantly challenging both the legacy brands LG, Samsung, and Sony, as well as other former “tier two” companies, like TCL and Hisense that have graduated to the top of the sales and feature ranks to rank among the industry’s top selling TV lines. Along the way, Vizio also has become a significant player in the sound bar market, with models from basic to advanced, object-based systems.

Vizio has long been known as a budget TV brand, but over the past few years the company started to push into premium territory with its P-Series and OLED TVs, as well as the rotating Elevate Dolby Atmos soundbar. This year, Vizio is focusing on its more affordable mid-range devices. That includes its M-Series Quantum X (MQX) TVs, which deliver a bevy of features that gamers will appreciate, as well as the M-Series Elevate soundbar, which brings the rotating Dolby Atmos functionality of the original Elevate down to a lower price-range.

With today’s introduction of its 2023 models, Vizio continues to push value and advanced TV technology at the same time. Among its new 4K smart TV offerings are its premium M-Series Quantum X (MQX) models in three screen sizes and its M-Series Quantum 6 (MQ6) in five sizes. Each series tops out with a 75-inch screen and starts shipping this month (July).

Fans of action movies and gamers will also be interested in Vizio’s claim that it has all but eliminated motion blurring artifacts in the new MQX models, which boast a native refresh rate of 120Hz for 4K content and a 240Hz refresh rate for Full HD (1080p) content.

Vizio also unveiled a new flagship soundbar audio system, the M-Series Elevate 5.1.2 Immersive Sound Bar ($800), comprising a slim 42-inch-wide soundbar featuring 13 drivers concealed behind charcoal fabric, a wireless subwoofer, and two rear-surround speakers. The system will be available this month.

During a Q&A session following its press announcement for the new TVs, a company rep repeatedly stated that the MQX-Series will satisfy the high-performance requirements of TV enthusiasts, and even pushed its advantages over OLED.

Finding the best picture quality for the money is the main object of CNET's TV reviews, and over the years Vizio has been one of my go-to value picks. I haven't reviewed the company's new MQX series yet, but what I've seen so far ups last year's ante by adding some sought-after upgrades while maintaining an affordable price.

I got the chance to see the MQX in person on Vizio's demo bus. Yes, it's a bus-full of TVs and soundbars that drives around the US showing off Vizio's latest gear. In my brief viewing session it looked good, but I'll have to wait until I get it into CNET's test lab to evaluate the upgrades for realzies. Those upgrades include improved brightness -- up to 1,000 nits peak according to Vizio -- as well as a 120Hz refresh rate, which allows the TVs to take advantage of the best 4K/120Hz video output quality from PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Vizio is among the first TV manufacturers to support Wi-Fi 6 streaming, available in all M-Series and V-Series TVs, which it says can help relieve congestion in homes with multiple connected devices.

Though our testers said that the Vizio offered good picture quality for its price, as well as nice gaming features (such as HDMI 2.1), they found that the integrated SmartCast streaming platform was largely mediocre. Matching the lowest price we’ve seen, this deal makes the M-Series a great option for those who don’t want to break the bank.

There are plenty of Amazon Prime Day deals on Fire TVs, but what if you want something different? Perhaps bigger? Vizio is discounting one of CNET's best TVs for the money, the 70-inch M-Series Quantum M70Q7-J03, by $100 right now at Prime Day competitor Best Buy. Normally a great deal at $800, the new $700 price makes it one of the better non-Amazon Prime Day deals on a TV this big.
